Did you know that Iron in your water could be what's causing the brown and yellowish stains on your pool surfaces? If you're able to make these stains vanish with by rubbing vitamin C on them, chances are they are caused by iron and can be easily removed with ascorbic acid. Still, ascorbic acid is not something you want to put in your pool water unless you have to. Ascorbic acid requires low chlorine levels to work best, which makes your pool very susceptible to algae and other problems. Before you treat those stains, make sure they are being caused by iron.
