  How to Add Borates

  Borates can be added to your water simply by adding combined boxes of Borax with muriatic acid to counter the rise in PH and Total Alkalinity. My own, 10,000 gallon pool required about 6 boxes of Borax and 3.5 gallons of muriatic acid in order to bring the Borate levels up to 50ppm.
